Continuing on its way with a new and powerful breath, Punto shapes its resources nourished by Anatolian culture with the cultural foundations of the entire world. The two brothers, who have worked for many years with “Hezarfen” Niyazi Sayın, “Tanburi” Necdet Yaşar, “Kanuni” Erol Deran, “Udi” Mutlu Torun, “Neyzen” Kaşif Demiröz, who are valuable heirs of the musical culture heritage of Anatolia and ancient times, aim to share the fruits of their work with new generations, and invite listeners to meet in the destiny of an imaginary journey with many different instruments and musical approaches it contains.

About
Umut Mehmet
Umut Mehmet, who received his first taste in music and education from his mother, TRT Izmir Radio TSM vocal artist Sevval Şentürk, won the Dokuz Eylül Classical Western Music Conservatory exams during his high school years and earned the right to become a full time student. During the double bass training he received here, he became interested in makam music and left after receiving double bass training there for 2 years.
Shortly after, he started taking Turkish Music Theory and Ney lessons with Neyzen Kaşif Demiröz.
In 2005, he earned the right to become a student in the Basic Sciences Department of Ege University State Turkish Music Conservatory and continued his studies with Neyzen Kaşif Demiröz throughout his university years and afterwards.
Umut Mehmet Şentürk, who had the opportunity to work privately with Neyzen Niyazi Sayın between 2007 and 2013, studied makam transition techniques with Erol Deran, Chamber Music with Naci Madanoğlu, Prosody with Çetin Körükçü, Work Analysis with Mutlu Torun and Advanced Ney Techniques with Burcu Karadağ in the Haliç University Turkish Music Master's Program he attended in 2013.
He successfully completed his Master's thesis titled "Genre, Form and Theory Analysis of Şevkutarab Makam" by working with his advisor Prof. Dr. Hakan Cevher.
He worked as a contract artist in numerous radio and television programs at TRT between 2003 and 2024.
The artist, who worked as a Ney instructor at the Ege University State Turkish Music Conservatory between 2010 and 2016, and at the Adnan Menderes University State Turkish Music Conservatory between 2020 and 2022, served as an arranger and performer in the “Hikayeler Anlatıldı" album of the "Punto" project he carried out with Onur Şentürk.
In this album, he had the opportunity to work with world-famous artists such as Chuck Sabo, Alen Konakoğlu, Andrew Smith, Ted Jensen and Christian Harger.
While the artist took part in many projects and albums, he released his first solo album "Fidelity" in 2022. This work was followed by many single releases, "Edvar", "Avalanche" and "Live Session", which consists entirely of live concert recordings.
Punto, a valuable heir of the musical culture heritage, continues its journey with a new breath with the album Manus Dei, which was released in 2024 and shaped by all the resources of Anatolian culture and the cultural and belief foundations of the world. It aims to share the fruits of the works of Anatolia and ancient times with new generations, and invites listeners to meet in the destiny of an imaginary journey with many different instruments and musical approaches.

Onur Anıl
Onur, with his middle name “Anıl” given by the famous Turkish Classical Music composer Avni Anıl himself, was born in Izmir, November 9th, 1979. Raised when he was a little kid on the recording rooms of Turkish Radio Music and Television (TRT), he was always blessed with his mother’s singing voice witnessing her singing and recording music as her profession.
At the early stages of his high school years when the Internet was not even heard of, he began writing in his own column about technology at Pc World Magazine Türkiye and ad.Net magazines monthly and he got paid in very small amounts monthly. With that and with his weekly pocket money his father gave he regularly bought cassettes, CDs and even empty cassettes to record and to listen to whatever he can as a resource from TVs and radios to enhance his musical tastes.
He graduated from İzmir Özel Türk Koleji in 1997 and then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University of New Jersey, USA exchange student program right after that. Those were the years when he took electric bass lectures from Cem Karal who was the bass guitar player of a locally well known band called Cats. Him and his band -Aglomera- was called for the finals and for an exhibition of singing and songwriting however, the nationwide competition was cancelled due to Düzce earthquake in November of 1999. Later, he had to move to New Jersey for the following three years until 2002 to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
Right after moving back from the United States he got his other Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations at Izmir University of Economics in 2007.
In 2005, he sang for the opening titles of a famous nationwide TV series called “Naciye’yi Kim Sevmez”.
In 2007, he sang for the closing titles of a movie of Nazım Hikmet’s life “Mavi Gözlü Dev”.
Both “Naciye’yi Kim Sevmez and Mavi Gözlü Dev” was composed by Cem İdiz.
In 2016, after his son was born, with his brother Umut Mehmet Şentürk “Hikayeler Anlatıldı” was released with Arpej Müzik label celebrating all those years of musical endeavors.
